Chu Yang walked in and saw Chi Yan still standing outside basking in the sun. "Chi Yan, what are you doing? Come over here!"
Chi Yan scratched the back of his head. "Oh, coming!"
Chi Yan followed her in, not daring to look around. He was like a little daughter-in-law, sticking close behind Chu Yang, listening to her talk with the shop assistant.
"Welcome! How may I help you, miss?"
Chu Yang was very direct: "I want to buy a swimsuit. Not too revealing."
The shop assistant immediately brought her over to the swimsuit section, picking up a pink one. "This style is quite popular. It's a two-piece with leaf edges, a little sexy but not too exposing."
Chu Yang didn't feel it was suitable. "Do you have any one-pieces?"
The shop assistant nodded. "What about this one? Miss, your fair skin would look great with this black one." The shop assistant held up a black one-piece halter neck swimsuit, with a skirt and open back.
Chu Yang thought it was okay. "Then let me try it on."
"Of course, this way."
Chu Yang gave her bag to Chi Yan. "Wait for me outside."
"Okay~"
Chu Yang took the swimsuit into the changing room. Chi Yan sat outside holding her bag, sitting perfectly still, eyes fixed on the changing room door without daring to look elsewhere.
Seeing him like this, the shop assistant asked, "Would you like to take a look at some lingerie for your girlfriend? We have all kinds of styles out here~"
Chi Yan waved his hand. "No need, no need, thanks."
The shop assistant persisted, "With skin as fair as your girlfriend's and her figure, lingerie like this would definitely suit her well." She showed Chi Yan a very revealing set.
Chi Yan glanced at it, the two small pieces of fabric instantly turning his face red as he desperately shook his head. "No...no need."
Shop assistant: "If you're not satisfied we have other colors and styles too. You can have whatever you like~"
Chi Yan: "I'll listen to my girlfriend." And desperately chanted a mind-cleansing mantra to himself.
Just then Chu Yang came out, handing the swimsuit to the shop assistant. "I think it's a bit big, could I get a size smaller?"
"Of course. Will that be all? We have all kinds of lingerie too~"
Chu Yang shook her head. "Just this, thanks."
"Alright."
After checking out, Chu Yang saw Chi Yan sitting there stiff as a boiled shrimp, motionless. "Hm? Are you hot?" Chu Yang felt his forehead, "Heat stroke? Should we get some menthol oil?"
Chi Yan quickly stood up, "No no, I'm fine."
"Then let's go."
"Mm mm."
After leaving the lingerie store, Chi Yan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Chi Yan didn't actually have heat stroke, but with the weather being so hot Chu Yang thought they should stock up on commonly used medicine. So she bought some menthol oil and other cold medicine.
She got two sets, giving one to Chi Yan. "Here, just in case."
"Thanks."
The two wandered here and there, eventually returning with their haul.
Early Saturday morning after breakfast, Chi Yan took Chu Yang to a swimming center owned by Brother Tianyuan. There weren't many people around.
"This belongs to my brother who lives next to North Looking Mountain."
Chu Yang had some impression. "Oh."
The two first went to change. Chi Yan's was simple, just a pair of shorts with a towel around his shoulders before he came out. Chu Yang put on the black swimsuit she bought previously, tying her hair in a bun and draping a towel around herself as she walked out.
Seeing Chu Yang come out, Chi Yan's ears instantly turned red.
Chi Yan had already swum a lap before Chu Yang came out. As soon as she appeared he quickly went over, "Let's warm up first."
Chu Yang put her towel on a nearby chair. "Okay."
After some stretches they did a few warm-up exercises, then Chi Yan went into the pool first, holding out his hand to help her down. "Come on in, slowly."
Chu Yang slowly entered the water and they began swimming, like a beautiful mermaid. Chi Yan swam alongside her as they leisurely lapped the pool.
When tired they clung to the pool edge. Chu Yang suddenly splashed water at Chi Yan, beginning a playful water fight.
With just the two of them there, they could be unrestrained.
"My, don't you look happy!"
Chi Yan and Chu Yang immediately stopped to see who it was. Gao Miao, followed by two lackeys. They didn't expect to run into Gao Miao here too.
Chu Yang instantly hid behind Chi Yan's back. Chi Yan wiped the water off his face, unwilling to acknowledge him since that would just egg him on.
"Let's get out first." Chi Yan said to Chu Yang.
"Mm mm." Chu Yang followed Chi Yan towards the poolside.
However Gao Miao blocked their way out, and every time they tried a different direction he moved to block them.
"Go past first." Chi Yan told Chu Yang.
Chu Yang moved back a meter. She then saw Chi Yan grab Gao Miao's leg and pull him into the water with a splash.
"Chi Yan, you're asking for it!" Gao Miao yelled loudly.
Chi Yan thought it was Gao Miao asking for it. He finally had some alone time playing in the water with Chu Yang, yet this guy dared intrude on them!
Chi Yan dragged Gao Miao into the water and directly held his head under.
"Glug glug~ Glug glug~"
Gao Miao: "Ahh, Chi Yan! What are you two doing? Help me hit him!" Gao Miao immediately ordered his two lackeys to attack.
The two lackeys looked at each other hesitantly. That was Chi Yan! They didn't dare be as unscrupulous as Gao Miao.
But they still got into the water to help in the end. The four scuffled in the water.
Though called scuffling, it was really just Chi Yan beating up Gao Miao. The two lackeys could only act to shield Gao Miao, not daring to touch Chi Yan.
Water splashed everywhere. Unable to see clearly, Chu Yang only knew three were ganging up to attack her Chi Yan. That wouldn't do. Chu Yang immediately climbed ashore, throwing both towels down accurately over their heads before grabbing a life preserver and whacking each of them like playing whack-a-mole!
"Ow!"
"Ow!"
"Ow!"
The other patrons came over to watch. Even the pool manager came, "Okay okay, stop fighting, not safe!" Though saying this he didn't actually dare intervene. Both sides weren't easy to provoke.
Just as the manager was fretting anxiously, he saw the boss arrive. "Boss, boss, come quickly!"
Zheng Tianyuan, followed by a bunch of friends, asked "What's going on?"
"Young Master Chi and Young Master Gao are fighting!"
Zheng Tianyuan immediately perked up, "Oh my! Let me go see."
When he got there, this wasn't just fighting but a one-sided beatdown, with Chi Yan and his girlfriend beating up Gao Miao. What to do? Kind of wanted to laugh.
But as an adult he had to maintain appearances. Zheng Tianyuan coughed twice before ordering, "Get them separated!" Then to Chi Yan he called out, "Stop fighting! If there's any issue, tell your brother here and I'll inform your families. Don't make me do that!"
Seeing Zheng Tianyuan, Chi Yan gave Gao Miao one last kick before swiftly swimming to the edge and climbing out. Chu Yang threw down the life preserver and dashed over. "Are you okay?"
Chi Yan shook his head. "I'm fine."
