"I suggest the school gives them a medal for bravery! *applause*"
"That guy looked like he was about to stab her again, if not for Chi Yan I'm afraid she wouldn't have made it until the ambulance arrived."
"I heard Chi Yan was just about to go to the library with his girlfriend when this happened."

Because of this incident, Chu Yang and Chi Yan were both too shaken to study at the library. Chu Yang got blood on her hands that took a long time to wash off in the bathroom.
Chi Yan had only drank half his milk tea before he threw the rest away. He kept muttering what a waste.
Chu Yang: "...I'll buy you another one tomorrow."
Chi Yan smiled at last, "But don't you have classes all day tomorrow?"
Chu Yang: "I'll get you one next time I come over then."
"Okay."
Since they weren't going to the library anymore, Chi Yan asked Chu Yang, "How about we go work out for a bit? To liven ourselves up." His girlfriend looked rather frail, more exercise would be good for her health. "I'll teach you to play basketball, okay? Don't you have a basketball shooting test in PE?"
She did have that test coming up, so Chu Yang agreed.
"Then I'll go back to my dorm to grab a ball."
"Okay."
Chi Yan took Chu Yang to wait below the male dorm building, then he went upstairs. As soon as he stepped into the dorm room, Zheng Qing and Wei Feng came up to him with their phones, "So you really ran into a stabbing? It's all over the news."
Chi Yan nodded. "Yeah. So I came back." He put his bag down and went to change into workout clothes first.
Wei Feng chattered on, "Crazy stuff. We warned her already didn't we? You see, kind words are lost on the foolish."
Zheng Qing was rather upset too. "Let it go. It was her fate!"
Chi Yan came out fully changed and picked up a basketball, ready to head out. Wei Feng saw him and said, "Yo Chi Yan, playing ball? I'll join!"
Chi Yan rejected him outright. "No." Then he walked out of the dorm. He was going to teach his girlfriend, why would he want a light bulb around.
Wei Feng followed him out. "Come on, I've got nothing to do this afternoon."
Chi Yan threw him a look. "I'm going with my girlfriend."
Wei Feng stopped in his tracks. "Oh...nevermind then." He turned around and went back into the dorm. Once inside, he complained to Zheng Qing that Chi Yan was neglecting his buddies ever since he started dating.
Zheng Qing retorted, "If I had a girlfriend I wouldn't be bringing you around either. You light bulb!"
It wasn't long before Chi Yan met up with Chu Yang downstairs again. She held the ball while he gave her a ride to the basketball court.
They took up half a court. Chu Yang stood behind the three point line while Chi Yan taught her form.
"Spread your legs a bit, crouch down, then jump, hold the ball with both hands like this..." He demonstrated a fluid shot that went cleanly in. Then he passed Chu Yang the ball to give it a try.
Chu Yang felt like she understood it visually but her body didn't seem to get it. Out of five attempts, none went in...
Chi Yan patiently guided her again and Chu Yang finally started getting the hang of it. At least she could make two or three out of five now.
"Don't rush yourself. We'll take it slow." Here, let me teach you ball handling... As Chi Yan coached Chu Yang on one side of the court, a group of male university students on break happened to spot them from the other side. One called his buddies over at once. "Check them out."
"Good move! Yet another trick to get a girl's attention."
"Man I wish I had a girlfriend to play ball with too."
One of them joked, "You losers can only look on enviously while others enjoy themselves."
"Hey he looks kind of familiar doesn't he?"
"Of course he's familiar, that's Chi Yan! Your Chi Yan bro, power forward of the basketball team, killer player."
"Oh right, let's ask Yan bro to play with us!"
"You go ask then, don't you see he's with his girl?"
"Yeah just leave them be. Alright break's over guys, let's get back to it!"
...After an hour of playing ball together and some breaks in between, Chu Yang said she wanted to head back early. So after eating, Chi Yan sent her back to campus.
Since they had agreed to go out to a movie on Saturday night and Chu Yang had to tutor in the afternoon, Chi Yan returned to the small district near his family house to wait. Once Chu Yang finished with tutoring, they would meet in the city center directly.
Chi Yan drove while Chu Yang went to buy tickets on one side when they arrived at the theater. Chi Yan queued on the other side for drinks and popcorn.
Somewhere in the middle, another girl asked Chi Yan for his WeChat. He turned her down, but Chu Yang got asked by someone else at the same time over on her side. Before she could decline, Chi Yan appeared and said, "Sorry, my girlfriend's taken." He came over to Chu Yang's side and handed her a soda.
Seeing Chi Yan, the hopeful guy immediately left to commiserate with his own friends instead. They witnessed the whole exchange and could only pat his shoulder in consolation.
After about ten minutes the movie was starting, so they lined up to enter the theater. Chu Yang vaguely heard the couple behind them commenting, "What a matching pair in front, the girl and guy are both so good-looking."
The screening wasn't sold out but it also wasn't empty. No one sat next to Chu Yang though. They grabbed seats in the back row.
The movie soon began playing. While Chu Yang watched attentively, Chi Yan was not as focused. Next to them was another couple. At first nothing was happening, but soon they started kissing and murmuring sweet nothings audibly.
Awkward... Chi Yan glanced at Chu Yang. She seemed oblivious, sitting there nonchalantly.
Chi Yan reached over to take her hand. Chu Yang turned to look at him questioningly. "Wha..." Then she noticed the amorous couple next to them. Wow, no shame...
Chu Yang's first reaction was to cover Chi Yan's eyes with her other hand...
Chi Yan: ???
After a beat Chu Yang said "Sorry..." She scooted over so Chi Yan could take her seat. She straightened his head to face the screen. "Watch the movie properly."
Chi Yan: "Oh."
