This Childhood Sweetheart is a Little Sweet

Chapter 65

On such a morning, Jiang Wei and Yi Ming were quietly eating a bowl of noodles in the noisy cafeteria, neither of them speaking again, merely silently accompanying each other until the noodles were finished.

As they were leaving, Jiang Wei and Yi Ming bid farewell to the elderly couple who ran the noodle stall.

"Uncle, Auntie, we have to go back to class now."

"Okay, come again, kids. Uncle and Auntie will be waiting for you here."

"Sure."

Jiang Wei and Yi Ming smiled, waving at the elderly couple, "We'll definitely come often, the little greedy monster in our stomachs craves the bamboo shoot and beef noodles every day!"

The old couple laughed upon hearing this, looking at Jiang Wei and Yi Ming with an affection as if they were their own children, gentle and kind...

After returning from the cafeteria, Yi Ming and Jiang Wei parted ways, beginning their busy day of classes.

Yi Ming had a live dissection class today. In order to allow the students to experience the experimental effect more vividly, today's class would no longer study from the "Body Instructors", but instead switch to using experimental animals.

White mice were the most common experimental animals, but the school's order with the white mouse breeding farm had temporarily encountered an issue. With no other choice, the school's purchasing officer had to replace the white mice with white rabbits.

This caused an uproar among the female medical students.

"Oh my god, why did it have to be bunnies..."

"I know, how can I bring myself to do this... look at those red eyes, I really can't bear it..."

"Let's go talk to the teacher, see if we can switch to a different animal... even though I feel bad for the white mice too, but I really can't do this to rabbits..."

The girls chattered amongst themselves, while Yi Ming, donning a white lab coat, stood by the side. As he looked at the small rabbits lying in the cage on the floor, he couldn't help but feel a slight pang.

Sometimes, people really are helpless.

The path of medicine is already a difficult one to tread. Just the undergraduate education alone requires five years of study to cultivate a qualified doctor.

And in order to better apply medical techniques accurately on the human body, so many sacrifices have to be made along this path.

Yi Ming let out a soft sigh. He walked over, squatting down, and gently tapped on the edge of the cage with his slender fingers.

The little rabbit was originally listless and lacking in spirit, but seeing someone come to "visit" it, it struggled to get up and come closer, sniffing with its little nose...

Yi Ming pursed his lips with a bitter smile.

After a long silence, he thought for a moment, and before the bell rang for class, he turned and headed towards the teacher's office.

Five minutes later, the bell rang.

Yi Ming walked into the classroom as the bell chimed, followed by Teacher Liu, donning a white lab coat, glasses perched on his nose bridge, and a stern expression.

"Class, let's begin."

Teacher Liu tugged at his own lab coat, his gaze flickering slightly as he passed by the rabbits used for the experiment.

"Teacher, do we really have to operate on these poor bunnies today?" A bold female student spoke up first.

"Yes." Teacher Liu nodded calmly.

"But they're just too pitiful..." The female student's voice trembled as she lowered her head to look at the rabbits on the floor, her tone growing more and more distressed. "They're living beings too, can't we find a way that respects life more..."

"Who says there isn't?" Teacher Liu suddenly spoke.

"Huh? What do you mean, Teacher?"

"This batch of little ones will undergo the experiment under anesthesia. I will personally perform the operations, and after the experiment is done, I will supervise you all in suturing them one by one. They... won't die."

"Really? Teacher!" The students exclaimed joyfully upon hearing this.

"Yes, and... after the experiment is over, I will send them to the pet rescue center to await being adopted."

"Oh, yes! That's wonderful..."

The students laughed happily, and Teacher Liu glanced meaningfully at Yi Ming in the corner of the room. Their eyes met for a moment, and both of them smiled...
