This Childhood Sweetheart is a Little Sweet

Chapter 21

In the emergency room, the doctor was cleaning Jiang Wei's wounds. Yi Ming stood to the side watching. He felt that this doctor looked delicate and not very medically skilled. But when he lowered his head again, the bright "Chief Physician" badge on the doctor's chest stung his eyes.

"It looks like just superficial skin injuries for now. But because the wound is on the head, it's best to do some further checks," the doctor said, squinting his eyes while smiling gently at Jiang Wei, "Such a pretty young girl. Remember to apply some scar removal gel after the wounds have healed over to get rid of any scarring. I'll prescribe some for you to pick up later. For now, just follow the nurse for those checks."

After the nurse took Jiang Wei away, Yi Ming closed the door and casually crossed his legs while sitting on a stool. "Does my wife look good?"

The doctor didn't even glance at him. "You two are married?"

"Not yet, but soon..."

"Then you're not married."

The doctor calmly glanced at his computer screen, bluntly interrupting Yi Ming.

"Hey, what's with your attitude, doctor? Whether she's married or not has nothing to do with you..."

The doctor frowned. He felt this young man was too noisy.

He suddenly put down his mouse with a "slap" and expressionlessly turned the computer screen around.

Yi Ming was startled. His eyes fell upon the flashing words on the screen: "Patient Visit Registration Form".

"Family member, do you need anything?"

The doctor tapped his fingers on the table while frowning at Yi Ming.

Yi Ming went silent for two seconds before quickly retracting his crossed legs and respectfully standing against the wall. "Nothing. You look very handsome today, Doctor."

"I'm handsome every day," the doctor continued righteously as he turned his computer screen back around. "Young man, don't be so hostile to others. To pursue a girl, you need sincerity. Just removing external obstacles isn't enough. You need effort both inwardly and outwardly."

Yi Ming smiled while holding his fists together. "I'm all ears. Doctor, could you advise me?"

"I'm not the best person for love advice."

Yi Ming: "?"

The doctor picked up a small mirror next to him and stroked his face while gazing lovingly at his reflection. "After all, I'm too handsome. It comes naturally. I don't have much experience in striving through later efforts..."

Yi Ming: "......"

Doctor, aren't you a bit narcissistic?

Jiang Wei's test results came back. She was very healthy without any issues.

The doctor said they could go back home now and come to change her bandages in a few days. The two of them returned to their apartment complex and went upstairs. In front of her home, Jiang Wei held up a finger to stop the person trying to follow her inside. "Stop—"

Jiang Wei pointed at the iron door across from hers. "Go back to your home."

"Jiang Xiaowei, you can't just abandon me after getting help..." Yi Ming raised an eyebrow at her.

"I didn't abandon you. It's that certain legs couldn't help wandering around." Jiang Wei took out her keys from her pocket. "Older Sister Zhou will be back tomorrow morning. She'd be scared seeing you here."

"I don't think it's about Older Sister Zhou. It's you, isn't it?" Yi Ming's eyes shone brightly in the darkness. "We used to sleep together when we were young. In preschool, when it was naptime and there was thunder, which little dumpling ran over to my bed, insisting on squeezing together to sleep?"

Jiang Wei's face turned red in the dark hallway. She hurriedly shoved the key into the lock. "Who? Don't know."

"Hey, why are you shirking responsibility again..."

Just as Yi Ming lifted his head to reason with her, the little girl had already slipped swiftly through the door. Then came a "bang" as she slammed the door shut...
