Qiao Sixiao turned off her phone. She understood Qin Wei, so she found these topics rather silly.
But she also worried for her secretly - this wave of online smears were strongly targeted. It wasn't to make her fans unfollow her, but to attract the attention of random passerbys who don't follow Qin Wei, or even the entertainment industry.
Through releasing black materials, directing discussions, flame wars etc, they wanted the average person who knows nothing about "Qin Wei" to develop negative impressions about her - judging from their first shallow understanding that she is a person closely tied to negative entertainment industry news, and hence subconsciously dislike her even without really knowing much about her.
In short, someone wanted to destroy her public reputation outside of her fanbase.
Fortunately the Weifeng fans have been very obedient - in the face of malicious comments and even verbal assaults, they did not fight back at all. One could see overwhelmingly one-sided condemnations online, yet barely see any fan efforts to defend Qin Wei.
In fact, in her fan community the Weifeng fans were happily sharing cute moments and videos - so much so that some outsiders who came in to watch the drama ended up falling into the pit and becoming new fans.
