The Queen’s Rise to the Top

Chapter 491

After a whole day of classes, Nan XiangWan came to the abandoned teaching building in the evening.

Though it was said to be abandoned with the front door locked, it was actually the private territory of the Special Forces Department.

Weeds grew here and it was eerie. Generally no one would come here.

But whenever there was a review, meeting or discussion of something, the people of the Special Forces Department would gather here secretly.

Like today, Nan XiangWan climbed over the wall and entered a classroom on the third floor.

Guan Fei had already been waiting here for a long time. He looked at his watch and said unsmilingly, “From the end of your last class to here is only a few kilometers distance, yet it took you so long. It seems your speed has decreased. Should you strengthen your physical training?”

Nan XiangWan: “...”

Guan Fei: “Why don’t you speak?”

Nan XiangWan: “Yes Sir, whatever you say Sir.”

She was too lazy to argue with this person. Moreover she had heard about him too.

Guan Fei came to the National Defense University three years ago. Before he officially became the commander of the Special Forces Department, he was a very cattle B Special Forces soldier, the kind that had accomplished incredible missions.

Otherwise with just his codename, he wouldn't have been so respected by all the new king soldiers of every military district.

But for some reason he came here as a civilian officer.

Dealing with someone like him, she couldn't match his brain or military rank. Keeping silent was the best approach.

Guan Fei raised a brow. “Did you get the commando knife?”

Nan XiangWan crouched slightly and pulled a commando knife out of her military boots. “Yeah, though it was modified, it works very well.”

Guan Fei looked at the knife and raised his head, “You should know the meaning behind giving you this weapon.”

Nan XiangWan: “I know! Kill without being noticed!”

Kill the big devil, kill Qiu Chang. She guaranteed she wouldn’t fail.

Guan Fei: “...”

Nan XiangWan tilted her head. “Not right?”

Guan Fei took a deep breath. “How did your military law class teach you?!”

Nan XiangWan: “Uh...”

Guan Fei was so angry that he hit her head with a book while cursing. “Killing, killing, just thinking about killing! You are a soldier. Is it normal to think about killing all day? What is the meaning of serving in the military? It’s to defend our homes and defend the country! Not to let you fight and kill all day for your own selfish desires and take someone’s life!”

Nan XiangWan was hit on the head until she was dizzy. She blurted out instinctively, “But my assassination skills are so cool. I have no place to show them off.”

Guan Fei was simply too angry to speak. He could only slap the table and give an order. “Go to the library and read through all the military law textbooks. Then write a 20,000 character essay for me!”

Nan XiangWan: “!!!”

Guan Fei: “That’s an order! Carry it out immediately!”

Nan XiangWan almost fainted. 20,000 characters?

She’d rather die!

But under Guan Fei’s compulsory order, the lifeless Nan XiangWan dragged her powerless body to the library the next day. In the process of studying with her head down on the table, she even put on a tortured expression.

It was too difficult!

After studying for a whole morning, Nan XiangWan was still stuck on the first page of the textbook.

Why were there so many statutes? She recognized every word, but when strung together she couldn’t understand anything.

Just then, Nan ChaoYang ran over from afar and sat down heavily beside his sister. “Hehe! So many people outside are looking at you!”

Nan XiangWan: “You’re very free?”

Nan ChaoYang: “What, others look at my sister and I can’t be proud?”

Nan XiangWan: “You should reflect why with you two as twins, no one is looking at you.”

Nan ChaoYang: “...”

The atmosphere turned awkward. Nan ChaoYang’s eyes lowered and he saw the textbook his sister was desperately studying.

Nan ChaoYang: “You’re holding the book upside down.”

Nan XiangWan simply smashed her head on the table, exhausted like she was out of air.

She had thought studying would end after taking the college entrance exam. She had thought that the military academy was the same as the troops. She never expected that she was still too young, and for her whole life she couldn’t escape the curse of studying!

Why didn't anyone tell her before that there was still theoretical study at the military academy?

It was sinful!

Nan ChaoYang squeezed over wickedly again. “Tell me which parts you don’t understand and I’ll explain them to you.”

Nan XiangWan leaned her head on the table. “Your explanation isn’t as thorough as Beihuai’s.”

Nan ChaoYang suddenly became very angry and rolled up his sleeves. “Damn, Beihuai is Gu Beihuai right? Tell me, when did you two become so intimate you call him Beihuai?! Disgusting!”

Speaking of this matter made him angry. The CP fans were everywhere online and it made him want to bite someone!

Nan XiangWan ignored him and called Gu Beihuai.

In less than two seconds, the call was picked up.

Nan ChaoYang leaned his head over wanting to eavesdrop, but was slapped far away by his sister.

Gu Beihuai glanced at the information on his computer while gently holding his phone. “Miss me?”

When Nan XiangWan heard this, her heart suddenly beat violently once.

But very soon, it calmed down again.

She said weakly, “Have you taken military law classes before?”

Gu Beihuai was surprised for a moment. “Don’t understand the class?”

Nan XiangWan: “Mm, not only do I not understand, but the commander also asked me to write a 20,000 character essay.”

Gu Beihuai laughed out loud. “First time writing something so long?”

Nan XiangWan felt her head was about to explode. “I can’t write a single word!”

Gu Beihuai: “It’s okay, I’ll teach you tonight.”

After hanging up the phone, Gu Beihuai got up and closed his laptop.

Gong Jin was lying on the sofa playing games. Seeing this, a question mark popped up in his mind. “You’re going out? Going out to eat?”

Gu Beihuai: “Eat by yourself. Help me watch the company in the meantime.”

Gong Jin didn’t think too much about it. He remained immersed in his game. “Oh.”

Gu Beihuai swiftly left the company and drove to the airport. He didn’t bring much, just a laptop, his phone, ID and documents.

In the afternoon, Nan XiangWan went to class, another big class together with her brother Nan ChaoYang.

It was a large class for all students of the College of Liberal Arts and the students of National Defense Research. Over a hundred people sat together in the tiered lecture hall.

The sister and brother sat side by side. One learned very quickly, could infer and deduce; the other listened in a complete fog and wished she could punch the teacher.

Compared to the neat and tidy men of the National Defense Research, the College of Liberal Arts had quite a few female soldiers, making the class much more comfortable.

90% of the female soldiers on campus were concentrated in the College of Liberal Arts. There was even a celebrity.

So whenever there was a shared class with the College of Liberal Arts, the classroom was often filled. Aside from those who came to class normally, there were also those who came to sit in. Even in the corridors outside the classrooms, male soldiers from other departments could be seen deliberately passing by from time to time.

The female soldiers of the College of Liberal Arts were truly beautiful!

As a group ogled with satisfaction, feeling it was over too soon even after the entire afternoon class.

The lecturing teacher was practically speechless. For the same class given to students of the Command Department or other departments, how come none of you came to sit in?!

Blindly hardworking for who to see!

The afternoon class ended at 4:30. Nan XiangWan got up hazily, having been confused by the few hours.

Beside her, Nan ChaoYang had filled several pages of dense notes. A student genius’ brain and executive function really couldn’t be compared to normal people.

But just as the sister and brother were about to leave the classroom to go eat in the cafeteria, a commotion suddenly came from outside the classroom.

Shortly after, they saw the originally aloof female soldiers of the College of Liberal Arts. One by one they excitedly ran out with flushed faces.

These girls were usually very cold. It was the male soldiers who eagerly tried to curry favor with them, while they calmly rejected.

What was going on today?
