The spaceship was traveling at an extremely fast speed.
Their competition venue this time was Desert Planet, a planet that had long been uninhabited.
The name of Desert Planet was not actually Desert Planet. This was just a nickname that Chloe and the others had privately given it after reading Desert Planet's introduction.
On the other hand, the people from Brut Military Academy were more used to calling it K-450 Planet.
Chloe felt that the name was extremely dull and uninteresting - it was probably only those Brut guys who could actually say it out loud.
Daniel even said that he could not remember the name K-450 at all. The only name he knew was Desert Planet.
After about three days and two nights, the spaceship finally arrived at its destination.
There were already people there to pick them up at the spaceship docking point.
Chloe looked down through the cabin window and saw that they were all wearing windproof protective gear, with the ribbons on their clothes fluttering wildly in the wind.
She couldn't help sighing, "What an extremely harsh environment!"
Just then, Ren Yunying blew a whistle up ahead. The five of them lined up one by one and got off the spaceship.
Ren Yunying walked in front. Her voice sounded low and hoarse through the mask: "The environment on K-450 Planet is harsh and the living conditions are terrible too. But if I find that any one of you complains even a little, be prepared for a whipping."
Behind her, Chloe and her buddies looked at each other, then eagerly said,
"Don't worry Commander, we’re really good at enduring hardship. We can live in villas, and we can also live in dirt pits."
Ren Yunying nodded. "That's good. I hope you’re not just pretending to behave this time."
When she heard this, Chloe guiltily lowered her eyes.
As soon as they got off the spaceship, the staff started putting on protective gear onto Chloe.
With a "snap", the mask sealed tightly over her face. The world in front of her eyes instantly turned grey like the mask. At the same time, the wild wind slapped against the protective suit, making muffled sounds.
At first, Chloe was not very used to it. She felt like her head was also rattling loudly in the wind, as if it was about to break down at any moment.
But she reacted quickly.
Chloe stood still, supporting her forehead with one hand for a while to get used to it. Feeling better, she then stood upright and opened her eyes.
In front of her was a staff member with an indistinguishable face. His voice sounded muffled through his mask, "Miss, come with me."
Chloe paused and looked back. Daniel was still turning round and round on the same spot.
She was silent for a while, then politely declined, "No thanks, I’ll wait for my companions."
After speaking, Chloe walked forward and grabbed Daniel by the arm to pull him forward.
Daniel mumbled groggily, "...My head is ringing."
"Um," Chloe said expressionlessly. "It's because your brain is filled with water, so when the wind blows through it goes swoosh swoosh."
Daniel suddenly realized, "Ah I see."
Chloe: ...
She couldn't take it anymore. She flung Daniel over to Qin Huaibei.
Qin Huaibei was more direct than her. He punched Daniel hard in the chest, then kindly asked, "Awake now?"
Daniel didn't say anything but punched him back in return.
The staff witnessing all this: "..."
What a loving and affectionate No.1 Military Academy main cast team.
Amidst the noise, Ren Yunying called out their names at the front. Not daring to delay any further, Chloe quickly went over.
Ren Yunying pointed to the large deep blue tent in front and said, "The five of you will be staying together in this."
The wildly blowing wind made the deep blue tent sway back and forth. Chloe kept worrying that it would collapse the next second.
Just as she was thinking this, she asked aloud, "Will it really not collapse?"
Ren Yunying sneered, "That's not something you should worry about. Rather than whether it will collapse or not, you should worry more about the bugs that might crawl out from underground. They are much more dangerous than the wild wind."
Hearing this, Chloe's face grew somber.
Inside the cramped tent, the staff gave each of them a sleeping bag. To sleep, they would lay the sleeping bags on the sandy ground in the tent and get into them.
Katherine had never stayed in such a place before. Now she bit her lip, looking rather troubled.
Daniel was totally unconcerned, even sitting cross-legged on the sandy ground. "Don't be afraid. Sleeping in the sand is actually very comfortable. In the past when I was in the werewolf tribe’s land, I would turn into my original form and sleep in dirt pits."
Hearing this, Chloe fell into deep thought, "What if there are bugs in the sand?"
"Bite them to death, what else can be done?" Daniel said.
Chloe nodded, then solemnly patted Daniel on the shoulder, "Since you have experience in this, I’ll leave the job of catching bugs to you."
Daniel: ???
Before he could react, Chloe threatened him with his life to turn back into his original form and dig up the sand in the tent.
Whenever he found a bug, he had to crush it and throw it out.
Just then, noises came from outside.
Chloe put her mask back on and lifted the tent entrance to take a look.
At a glance she saw a few more spaceships arriving at the docking point.
She quickly called Anderson over to identify the people.
Inevitably, Anderson's voice sounded a little muffled under the mask.
He coughed a few times, glanced at the people not far away, and said,
"They are from Tagar Military Academy. All the students there are Humans."
Chloe recalled Xavier’s words and asked, "So apart from the No. 1 Military Academy, all the other military academies consist solely of a single race?"
Anderson nodded. "That’s right. And the other Sasley Military Academy consists entirely of Elves."
"I see, the racial segregation on the continent is pretty serious huh," Chloe nodded thoughtfully.
Anderson's lips curved into a faint smile. “Yes, it is so.”
While they were speaking, the group from Tagar Military Academy had walked over to their tent.
They wore the same protective gear, just that the emblem on their chests belonged to Tagar. Then they stopped in front of Chloe.
Like her group, there were also five people. The one walking in front had a slender figure. She peeked into their tent and asked, “No.1 Military Academy?”
Her voice sounded clear and bright - she was a girl.
Chloe's interest was piqued. She nodded, “Yes, did you need something?”
The leader of Tagar hesitated for a bit before speaking, “I’m looking for Qin Huaibei.”
As her voice trailed off, the gossip flames in Chloe's eyes burned ardently.
She coughed affectedly a few times, then turned towards the tent and called out loudly, "Qin Huaibei! Someone's looking for you!"
Soon, Qin Huaibei came out.
Seeing the Tagar emblem on their chests, his eyebrows twitched. He looked towards the girl in front, “Qu Yan?”
The clear-voiced girl nodded, “It’s me.”
Then she took out a chip from her pocket and said,
“My uncle asked me to pass this to you. He said it would be useful to you.”
Qin Huaibei received it with a soft word of thanks.
Having done all this, Qu Yan left with her companions.
Qin Huaibei stared at the chip for a few seconds before putting it into his pocket. When he raised his head, he was met with the blazing stares of the other four people.
Even Daniel who had transformed into his original form stopped digging and excitedly wagged his tail.
Qin Huaibei: ...
