The little boy was still dreaming of making Chloe his girlfriend when a punch laid him out on the ground.
Chloe had held back her strength when she threw that punch. She was mindful that this was just a cub, so she showed restraint.
Other than feeling a bit of pain and getting knocked down straight away, the punch didn't cause any real harm to the boy's body.
However, just because he wasn't physically injured didn't mean there was no psychological damage, especially since the boy had brought three other girlfriends along to watch his big fight.
To get punched to the ground like this in front of them was a huge blow to the boy's pride. He felt utterly humiliated and burst into loud sobs as he lay sprawled on the ground.
Standing to the side, Chloe also felt she might have gone too far in bullying a little kid.
She picked up the chocolate from the ground, crouched down, and placed it in the boy's palm, saying gently, "Don't be scared. I'm the boss of kindergarten now. Take this chocolate - from today on, you'll be my underling."
The utterly disgraced boy: "......"
He angrily threw the chocolate away and cried even harder.
In the end, it took four small cakes from the kindergarten teacher to finally calm the boy down.
This fight caused a huge commotion. All the cubs now knew the kindergarten had a new boss.
She was a cute little girl with black hair who was said to be very good at beating people up.
Chloe had assumed this incident was over, but unexpectedly, the three little girls who had been the boy's friends now clung to her.
"Since you defeated Avery, we're your girlfriends now," the red-haired girl stated.
Chloe, who never imagined things would unfold this way: "......I don't want you."
"How can you be so heartless and abandon us three sisters?" the redhead tried emotional blackmail.
Chloe's dumpling face wrinkled seriously as she told the girl, "I won't let you be my girlfriend. Please stand aside."
Seeing she couldn't persuade Chloe, the redhead started throwing a tantrum. "It's settled then - we're your girlfriends from now on. You have to share any good stuff with us first thing."
Having said this, she left hastily with the other two girls before Chloe could react.
Leaving Chloe standing stock still on the spot.
Were vampire cubs really this... formidable?
At five o'clock when kindergarten let out, Kewen pulled up on a cool motorcycle outside the gates.
He easily picked Chloe out from the crowd and waved her over.
So when Chloe came out with her small cold face, Kewen found himself greeted by three little girls as well.
Each girl gave Chloe a kiss on the cheek and affectionately said "See you tomorrow, wifey."
Then they left with smiles.
Kewen: "???"
He promptly picked Chloe up and solemnly said, "I know you're very pretty and capable, but you can't seduce little girls in kindergarten either."
Chloe: "......"
She slapped his arm resentfully. "They forced me!"
Kewen looked completely skeptical. "Really?"
Chloe stared at him for a while then turned her head frostily. "Believe it or not."
Seeing her stubborn and aloof little appearance made Kewen incredibly fond. He casually squeezed her chubby cheek then adeptly dodged the cub's attack.
He also put a miniature helmet on Chloe's head and settled her on the front seat, holding her in his arms as the motorcycle sped forward.
Though this girl was a bit fierce, she had personality - just the kind of independent little buddy Kewen liked.
The motorcycle raced along swiftly, soon arriving back at the manor.
This was the king's domain, ornately and grandly decorated.
Chloe clambered off the motorcycle herself, took off her helmet, and walked toward the manor.
Her legs were short, but she walked remarkably fast compared to children her age.
Kewen jogged a few steps to catch up with her. Sounding anxious, he asked, "You know what to do later, right?"
Chloe nodded. "I know."
This morning when he'd taken her to kindergarten, Kewen had urged and exhorted her that after school she must return to the manor and meet with her father.
Supposedly her father wanted to personally teach her the skills a vampire should learn.
Chloe was looking forward to it, finding it thrilling as well.
Once she finished her studies and returned, she would kick her father off the ancestral throne to avenge her teeth.
Thinking this, she touched the gap in her teeth again, her expression somber.
Seeing her look, Kewen started feeling afraid. "Little miss, take it easy. Don't really make His Majesty angry!"
After all, the king had always disliked cubs. If not for Chloe's talents, even if she was the king's direct descendant, she probably wouldn't have gained his favor.
The two continued forward until finally reaching the manor's top floor, where the Ancestor normally worked.
The doors opened and Chloe walked in, her cute dumpling face meeting Xavier's impassive gaze across the desk.
Sandwiched between them, Kewen wiped his brow, feeling all his earlier exhortations to Chloe had been wasted breath.
This little girl clearly hadn't taken any of it to heart.
After glaring at each other silently for who knew how long, Xavier lowered his eyes, his voice cold. "Little bean, does your neck hurt from craning up for so long?"
Chloe: "......"
She gritted her teeth. "One day I'll grow taller than you."
"I'll wait and see." Xavier sat in his chair and held a hand out to Chloe. "Come here."
Chloe hesitated before finally climbing over the chair's armrest and sitting on the man's lap.
What was he planning to do?
Just as Chloe was feeling bewildered, Xavier calmly turned a page in the book and asked, "Can you read?"
Hearing this, Kewen was about to say Chloe had only been in school one day. But then Chloe's crisp voice piped up, "I can read."
Xavier: "Then finish reading this whole book."
Chloe looked at him suspiciously and pushed his hand off her small tummy before carefully holding up the book bigger than her face.
After reading a few pages, she found it was full of abstruse, cryptic spells.
Though obscure, Chloe could still read everything out accurately and fluently, with perfect pronunciation and no stumbling.
Hearing the cub read, Xavier's long eyelashes fluttered subtly as he said in a low voice, "I've changed my mind."
Chloe blankly lifted her head. "Hm?"
"Reading the whole book is too simple for you," Xavier's gaze lingered on the cub's fair, round little face. "I'll give you three days to memorize this entire book."
Chloe: "!!!"
She clenched her fists. "You despicable old codger!"
Hearing this, Kewen instantly broke out in a cold sweat.
He anxiously glanced at the king, but surprisingly, His Majesty showed no signs of anger whatsoever.
Xavier forcefully pinched Chloe's cheek and retorted, "You disrespectful brat."
The two once again entered a staring loop.
Seeing this, Kewen finally relaxed.
It seemed the king really was quite fond of this little cub.
