The Girl Who Reincarnated as a Vampire Heiress

Chapter 283

The Elder of the Elf Race suddenly looked guilty.

He seemed to want to refute something, but every attempt to voice his defense found no suitable excuse, and in the end, he could only weakly retort:

"Regardless, Katherine remains a part of the Elf Race. Even if she is not the Holy Maiden, she should do her part for our race."

At such a pompous speech, Chloe nearly burst into laughter:

"What are you even uttering, old man? Wasn't it you who publicly said Katherine is to be banished from the Elf territories, stripped forever of her elf privileges? I had planned to have her become a Vampire right after graduation. Aren't your pleas a bit too late?"

Not far behind them, Katherine's expression was calm, her gaze on the Elf elder was cool and indifferent, devoid of any emotion.

She didn't seem to be looking at one of her own race.

Qin Huaibei and the others, finally leaving the tent, realized what had happened belatedly.

Qin Huaibei's corner of his mouth curled into a sarcastic sneer: "Ah, how shameless you are."

Daniel was even more straightforward: "Were you not so resilient a few years back? How come you've lost your spine now? If you want Katherine on your side, you should see if she herself wishes to. Stupid, two-faced old man."

After pondering for a moment, he added: "If it were our Werewolf Race, regardless of right or wrong, we would've taken your pitiful place. There would be no idle talk like this."

No sooner had Daniel's words ended than Qin Huaibei patted him on the shoulder, indicating him to calm down.

The elf elder, looking around, made the grim discovery that except for his own peers and soldiers, nobody sided with him.

Even those soldiers, after the continuous weeks of defeat and low morale, searched for other places to look when they caught his eye.

Seeing this, the elder was enraged:

"Worthless! All of you are worthless! Is this your spirit as warriors?!"

The soldiers hung their heads, looking at their own wounds and the fallen bodies of their comrades on the ground, a sense of resentment bubbled up within.

The Elder Council's autocracy had long been a source of public discontent.

The elder made things sound so easy, where was he when it came time to fight alongside the soldiers?

He liked hiding behind the soldiers. No wonder the academy students called them cowards.

The soldiers' disapproving and resentful glances were clear, making the elder scared each time he saw them, ultimately he did not dare to meet their gazes.

Gradually, he lost his confidence.

In mid-air, Xavier surveyed the entire field, noticing that most of the elf soldiers had stopped their attack. He lifted his hand and, using telepathy, ordered the Vampire soldiers to halt too.

The disorderly and chaotic scene gradually calmed down.

Xavier descended slowly, the gigantic bat wings being gradually retracted during the process.

By the time he had fully alighted, his wings had completely disappeared.

Chloe couldn't help watching, her gaze lingering on Xavier's back long after.

Until Xavier's indifferent voice cut through: "Do you want me to tear off my wings and attach them to you?"

Chloe's eyes lit up instantly: "Ah? Is it possible?"

Xavier: "...."

He firmly said, "No."

Chloe immediately muttered to herself, thinking if you don't feel like you can, don't agree so easily.

Acting as though you’ll miss those wings dearly.

Chloe covertly felt jealous. Her own wings were clearly much more beautiful than Xavier's, vastly so.

Xavier had no inclination to be concerned about the swiftly fluctuating emotions of his daughter. He only coldly reiterated to the Elder of the Elf Race:

"I have no intentions of opposing you, but if you continue to interfere with my affairs, I won't hesitate to claim your Forest of Life for the Vampires."

As soon as he finished, murmurs filled the ranks of the Elven soldiers.

The Elf Elder's face reddened in anger, "Do you understand the gravity of your words? You’re behaving like a brigand!”

Xavier calmly glanced at him, “Indeed. We are brigands.”

Upon saying that, he lost the desire to continue this banter with these elf blockheads.

Xavier had originally thought that these old men of the Elder Council would be shrewder. I did not expect such a mess.

Stupid.

Xavier walked towards his own tent, pausing halfway, hesitating.

After about half a minute, he turned around, extended his hand towards Chloe and beckoned her.

Chloe: "...."

Damn, does he think she's a puppet?

She briskly called out Wang from her storage ring:

"Go. See that man? Go bite him to death."

When Wang was released, he was ecstatic, wanting nothing more than to run wild.

Following his master’s pointing finger, he turned his head and saw Xavier.

Wang showed his sharp teeth menacingly, and tried to pounce towards Xavier, but screeched to a halt with just a two-meter gap.

The human being in front of him... emits a terrifying aura.

Wang’s ears drooped, and he tucked his tail between his legs, whimpering pitifully in fear. He looked back at Chloe, drew courage from her encouraging gaze, and with a burst of energy, he charged at Xavier.

Wang’s fierce action appeared terrifying indeed.

However, before his sharp teeth could touch Xavier, he was blown away by a powerful force.

Wang was flipped upside down in a sorry stroke. When he finally got up, he scurried towards Chloe, wriggling himself into her arms, and hurriedly retreated back into the storage ring.

It is likely that until he forgets this trauma, Wang would never dare to come out again.

Chloe looked at Xavier and found the man still calmly standing in front of the tent, looking at her with cool and nonchalant eyes.

Helpless, she grudgingly walked over, irritably said, "What now?!"

Xavier didn't respond, only gazed at Chloe pensively for a while, then strode into the tent, lifting the tent flap for Chloe as he did so.

Once Chloe elegantly entered, he put down the tent curtain, his voice calm:

“Your friend indeed holds you in high regard, even the Heart of the Forest can be delivered as a gift.”

Upon hearing this, Chloe came to a halt. As she turned around, she subconsciously covered her neck, squinting her eyes.

"Did you see it?"

"No," Xavier lifted his eyelids, "but I could feel it."

He walked towards her, extending his slender hand, faintly pointing at the area in front of Chloe's neck.

Suddenly, a green light appeared and a gentle ripple spread from the point of contact. The pendant's appearance soon became visible.

"Indeed, the Holy Maiden of the Elf Race has some impressive skills," Xavier calmly commented. "However, against a more advanced practitioner, it's impossible to remain undetected."

Withdrawing his hand, he once again cast a spell on the Heart of the Forest pendant.

The pendant disappeared again, now without a trace.

Returning to his seat at the head of the table, Xavier, half hidden in the shadows, possessed undeniable allure.

"Now, no one will be able to find this treasure," he declared.
