Not bad.
This wasn't exactly high praise, but for Anderson, who had never received a compliment on his appearance from Chloe before, it was already a tremendous surprise.
So Anderson's heartbeat grew even more frantic, and he was afraid Chloe would hear it. He discreetly took two steps back.
However, this retreat would inevitably take him out of Chloe's control.
She frowned slightly, somewhat impatiently gripped Anderson's chin and pulled him back, her tone very serious:
"Where are you running off to?"
After drinking, some of Chloe's movements became slightly sluggish, like this time when she pulled him.
Their noses were almost touching and she didn't even notice.
Anderson found it a bit unbearable and shifted back slightly, at least managing not to anger Chloe.
Chloe's eyes were a bit hazy.
Her slender fingers landed on Anderson's brow, then trailed down to his nose, lips, neck, and collarbone.
Anderson, being touched, turned bright red. From his ears to his cheeks to his neck, he was flushed beyond recognition, as if smeared with large patches of red watercolor.
In this state, anyone would accuse Chloe of toying with an innocent man.
Of course, no one noticed what was happening in this little corner.
So Anderson could only endure Chloe's repeated teasing.
Chloe was a bit muddled; in fact, she wasn't quite sure what she was doing herself.
She simply felt that the man in front of her was nice to touch.
Quite fun.
After who knows how long, Chloe sensed that the breathing of the person in front of her seemed to be getting heavier and heavier. Only then did she very keenly stop her hand, and instead casually asked:
"Why didn't you give your contact information to that girl who came looking for you earlier?"
Anderson exhaled deeply, hot sweat sliding from his temples and forehead, dripping onto the back of his hand.
Scalding.
He calmed his emotions a little, feeling not as uncomfortable, before replying in a husky voice:
"No particular reason, I just found it annoying."
Annoying?
Chloe played with Anderson's fingers as she listened. She thought for a moment, then said: "Why would you find it annoying? Shouldn't it be a happy thing when a girl takes the initiative to approach you?"
She gave an example: "Like Daniel, he's already had more than a dozen relationships, and he says each one was very happy."
Anderson's expression tightened a bit: "I'm not like him."
The young man's tone was almost coaxing: "Daniel likes everyone, but I only like one person."
The loud, intense music drowned out Anderson's voice. Chloe tilted her head slightly, not quite catching what he said:
"What did you just say?"
Anderson pressed his lips together, and after a long moment said: "...Nothing."
He raised his arm, hesitantly grasped Chloe's wrist, then slowly put her mischievous hand back.
Chloe was a bit angry and tried to break free with some force.
Her little bit of force would be a thousand pounds of strength in an ordinary person's hands.
Caught off guard, Anderson was almost flipped away.
Fortunately, he quickly stabilized himself.
Anderson said helplessly: "Go rest, miss."
"You're already very tired."
Chloe wanted to say she wasn't tired at all, but as soon as Anderson finished speaking, drowsiness silently crept up on her nerves.
In the last second before falling into deep sleep, Chloe thought—
Anderson is so stupid, he doesn't even know how to soften up when a girl comes to him. Will he end up lonely and single forever?
Should I find him a spouse?
...
Chloe slept until the music festival ended.
It was already the early hours of the morning when they returned to their lodgings.
Actually, she had woken up many times in between, and each time she woke up, she could see Anderson guarding her side, worried that something might happen to her if she stayed there alone.
Having had a good sleep, Chloe was full of energy. She bounced out of bed and went to find her friends to play.
Anderson couldn't persuade her otherwise, so he could only follow her downstairs.
Downstairs was a drunk-as-a-skunk Daniel and Qin Huaibei and the others struggling to drag him upstairs.
Chloe leaned on the corridor railing watching them and asked:
"What's wrong with him, howling like a ghost?"
Qin Huaibei was at his wit's end: "See for yourself!"
Hearing this, Chloe went downstairs with interest, stood in front of Daniel, and bent down slightly to wave in front of his face.
Daniel was crying and wailing, a mess of snot and tears, mumbling incoherently:
"Xiao Mei... my Xiao Mei!"
"Xiao Mei, don't leave me... I love you so much, I'd give my life for you!"
Chloe's face showed an expression of disgust:
"You emo freak, throw him out for me."
Qin Huaibei was always very loyal in executing this kind of command. As soon as he heard this, he promptly picked up Daniel with one hand, making to throw him out the door.
Daniel, cunning as ever, even drunk as a mud, knew to cling to the doorframe to prevent himself from being thrown out.
Probably from being thrown out too many times, it had become an instinct.
After clinging to the doorframe, Daniel began to inch his body into the room bit by bit.
Crawling and crying at the same time.
Chloe really couldn't stand it anymore: "Who is this Xiao Mei, another one of his girlfriends?"
Katherine silently raised her hand: "Not a girlfriend, it's the cactus he killed by overwatering."
Chloe: "?"
To even kill a cactus, Daniel was truly talented.
Presumably, the incident of killing the cactus had caused Daniel great psychological trauma, which is why he was still muttering about it now when drunk.
After crying for a while, Daniel gradually stopped sobbing, then slowly let out a laugh that could only be described as sleazy.
Chloe felt another question mark slowly rising in her heart: "What's wrong with him now?"
Daniel raised his handsome face, revealing a simple-minded smile, and mysteriously held up his terminal for everyone to see:
"Today... many beautiful girls added my terminal number. It must be because they were attracted by my otherworldly good looks!"
Chloe's gaze fell on his revealing little skirt, and her thoughts hesitated for a moment.
Would girls really like this kind of Barbie-like hunk they've only met once?
Chloe was skeptical about this.
The terminal screen was opened, and Daniel looked expectantly at the message a girl had sent him.
—[Hey classmate, your little skirt is very nice, where did you buy it? Can you give me a link?]
Daniel: "..."
Not giving up, he sent another message:
[Do you only want the link for the little skirt?]
There was a moment of silence on the other end. Under the solemn gaze of all five people present, the girl finally sent a message:
[I heard you're teammates with Chloe. I've been her fan for five years now. If it's not too much trouble, could you please help me get Chloe's terminal number?]
Everyone: "..."
Chloe raised an eyebrow slightly.
In the silence, Daniel exclaimed with a face full of indignation: "Why?!"
Chloe looked at him, chuckled, and patted his shoulder, saying:
"Sorry, my charm is just too irresistible."
"Oh, and remember to tell that young lady that I can't give out my terminal number, but I sincerely invite her to have lunch with me tomorrow at noon."
Chloe smoothed out the stray hairs on her neck and shoulders, the corners of her lips curving up as she spoke in a sweet voice:
"Make sure you relay the message, love you~"
