Daniel unexpectedly wrapped his legs around Qin Huaibei, who expressed disdain for this behavior.
He looked down on Daniel's actions, scolding him: "How can you, a Werewolf, be so shameless, calling yourself a slave? Moral decline has truly reached new depths!"
For some reason, perhaps due to Qin Huaibei's overly stern tone, Daniel actually felt a twinge of shame.
He gradually loosened his grip on Chloe's sleeve, his expression confused and conflicted.
Just as Daniel was about to apologize out of guilt, Qin Huaibei turned to Chloe with a sincere gaze and resolute tone, saying:
"Whoever pays is the father, Big Daddy Chloe, I'm actually your long-lost son!"
Daniel: "......"
Chloe: "......"
Katherine: "*pfft*"
Anderson calmly asked: "Perhaps you need a medical record?"
In the end, Qin Huaibei was knocked to the ground by Daniel's punch.
Daniel swung his fists while gritting his teeth:
"I should have beaten you senseless, you blind fool!"
Witnessing it all, Kewen whistled but didn't want to get involved in the cubs' quarrels, only politely bowing:
"Miss, please come in."
Chloe didn't bother with the two idiots, turning and walking inside.
Along the way, amidst the clamor, they entered the courtyard, and the servants who had been at the manor for many years all turned their gazes towards them.
Their eyes were filled with affection.
"The little miss seems to have grown taller again."
"It's been so long since we've seen the little miss, she has indeed grown a bit taller, and more beautiful too."
"But why haven't her teeth grown out yet?"
Chloe, who had been enjoying listening to the servants' chatter, suddenly frowned and sulked upstairs.
The interior of the manor was even more luxurious, with huge murals and stained glass windows. The golden domes were painted with vivid artworks, heavily imbued with religious themes.
In reality, however, Vampires did not believe in any religion; this decor was purely for aesthetic reasons and because Chloe liked it.
Qin Huaibei walked on the polished marble floor, trying hard not to appear too uncultured.
But when he saw the various limited edition weapons hanging on the walls at the corner of the hallway, he couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.
Qin Huaibei lowered his voice with great effort: "Why would you hang weapons in such a conspicuous place!"
Upon hearing this, Chloe glanced at them: "Is it really that strange?"
Of course it's strange!
Qin Huaibei's eyes lit up, but his tone was concerned: "What if some lawbreakers sneak into the manor, or if those servants have evil intentions?"
Hearing this, Chloe vaguely understood what he meant and reassured him: "Don't worry, that won't happen."
Not to mention the inherent subjugation of Vampire bloodlines, even if some foolhardy person did take these weapons, they might not necessarily be able to seriously injure Xavier or Chloe, let alone the servants.
Those allowed to serve in the Ancestor Vampire's manor were no ordinary people.
After explaining this, Qin Huaibei seemed pensive, while Daniel was raring to go:
"Then can I play with these weapons?"
"No, you can't," Chloe glanced at the weapons on the wall, "These are the ones Xavier and I like to use. If you want to practice, I can take you to the training room later."
Daniel immediately nodded excitedly.
They passed through the winding hallways and staircases, eventually stopping outside a door.
Daniel looked at the sign on the door and read it aloud, word by word:
"No entry for Xavier and dogs?"
"Hey, you two really have a peculiar father-daughter relationship."
Chloe pursed her lips: "You guys don't know, he used to be quite annoying."
Now he's better, but still a little annoying.
But no matter what, Xavier was still her father, and he was great when he wasn't being annoying.
This was Chloe's room.
Overall, it fit people's stereotypical impressions of Vampires quite well.
Pumpkin decorations, bat night lights - though the lighting was quite bright, making these eerie decorations seem cozy instead.
Qin Huaibei found a chair and sat down, properly refraining from rummaging through things.
Chloe opened her luggage and took everything out.
Clothes, food, and that skull pillow.
Chloe didn't really like the skull pillow, but she had gotten used to hugging it, so she felt a bit reluctant to change it for some reason.
She handed these items to Anderson, who took them and put them in their proper places.
His movements were swift and practiced, as if he had rehearsed it countless times.
One didn't need to look to know how long Chloe and Anderson had been living together.
Daniel clicked his tongue in admiration, then asked:
"Hey, where's your dad?"
As Chloe handed Anderson another item, she casually remarked:
"Probably in the office, he's quite busy, I suspect he can process thousands of documents a day."
In the past, when Chloe was bored, she would beg Xavier to play with her.
But Xavier was always busy, and every time Chloe went to find him, he had no time, so eventually Chloe stopped going to look for him to play.
Instead, she chose to cause mischief in Xavier's office.
Deliberately making loud noises to disrupt Xavier's concentration, or randomly stuffing things into his mouth for him to eat.
Severely hindering Xavier's work efficiency.
But strangely, Xavier never seemed to blame Chloe for it.
Reminiscing about the past.
Chloe pursed her lips: "Let's go, I'll take you guys to play somewhere else."
There wasn't much fun in her room.
As Chloe spoke and headed out, she opened the door only to see a tall figure.
It was Xavier.
Seeing her, Xavier raised an eyebrow slightly: "You're back and didn't come find me?"
Chloe stared at him for two seconds, then said honestly: "I thought you were working."
"Indeed I was working." Xavier straightened his cuffs, then bent down to pick Chloe up, "But since my daughter is back, I had to come see her."
After saying that, he looked towards the slightly awkward children in front of him, his gaze lingering especially long on Daniel.
Although he didn't particularly like these different species, upholding the principle that all guests should be welcomed, Xavier politely nodded at them:
"I've made some snacks in the kitchen. You must be hungry after flying all the way here. Come down and have something to eat."
As his voice trailed off, he turned around and led the way.
Chloe hugged Xavier's neck, her face directly facing her little companion.
Her eyes were curved, and she looked quite delighted, urging:
"Come on, it's time to eat."
Qin Huaibei and Daniel Katherine glanced at each other.
It seemed that the relationship between this father and daughter wasn't as bad as they had thought.
