The Female Taoist Priestess’s Childhood Sweetheart Is a Male CEO

Chapter 3

This was the first time Jian Xi had ever been on a plane. Feng Xueqing had booked her a window seat. As she looked out at the scenery below, she murmured softly, "So this is the view above the clouds. It's so beautiful. I wonder what Brother is doing right now?"

She had rarely even gone down the mountain before, let alone traveled alone like this.

She had been raised by her brother since she was small, but he wasn't her biological brother. He was an "outsider" living at the Taoist Temple.

He wasn't called an outsider because people treated him like one, but because he wasn't a Taoist priest himself, just someone staying at the temple temporarily to cultivate his health.

To be more accurate, she had been picked up by him!

She was an orphan, abandoned at the temple gates shortly after birth. That day, when her brother had gone out for morning practice and opened the temple gates, he had found her and brought her back to the temple.

When she was three years old, the abbot of the temple, Master Xuan Yi Daoist, who was also her master, discovered she had an innate yin-yang eye. He said she was born to make her living in metaphysics, so he took her on as a disciple.

And so she began her journey as the temple's little Daoist apprentice, becoming the youngest disciple there.

Not counting her, there were six disciples total at the temple. She was ranked seventh, so her Senior Brothers and Senior Sisters all called her Little Seven, which was her nickname.

But her brother was the only one who didn't call her Little Seven, only calling her Xi Xi, because that was the name he had given her.

It came from the Book of Odes poem "Jian Xi" - "Jian xi, jian xi, fang jiang wan wu."

She was the little darling of the temple, doted on by everyone. When she was ten, her Senior Brothers and Sisters had all finished their training one after another. Her Master told them to go out into the world freely to develop themselves.

But every two years, no matter how busy everyone was, they would return to the temple at the same time to gather for two days!

Those were always the happiest times for Jian Xi, because not only could she see her Senior Brothers and Sisters again after so long, she would also receive many gifts!

Over a month ago, her Senior Brothers and Sisters had all come back for a visit, and her Master had even let them stay an extra day, which was rare.

But after they left, her Master passed away just a few days later.

She had wanted to notify her Senior Brothers and Sisters to come back, but her Master had instructed her on his deathbed not to call them back.

Aside from that, her Master had left the temple to her in his will, which surprised her at the time. She didn't understand why her Master would leave her the temple, when he clearly knew her situation.

She was born with five faults and three deficiencies, and she also had the fortunes of solitude and wealth!

She could not legally own property with her name on it. The most she could have each day was one hundred yuan. Anything more would not stay with her!

But her Master gave no explanation, only leaving her those words before breathing his last breath.

And so, it wasn't long before the temple really did have to close down. She could only pack up and leave the mountain to go find her brother.

She didn't know exactly where her brother lived, only that it was in B City. When her brother had left the temple, he had given her his address and phone number, but she had carelessly lost them. So now she could only blindly search for him.

As for why she didn't just divine her brother's location, it was because she couldn't divine anything about her brother. She had tried divining him when he was there, but couldn't get anything. She had even asked her Master why.

She remembered her Master had also been puzzled for quite a while, his expression a bit strange, before finally telling her it was likely because her brother's fortune was too great - people like that were protected by the Way of Heaven, which was why she couldn't divine him.

Now she could only throw the Five Emperors' coin every day to see which direction it pointed to for good fortune!

Her brother had left the temple when he was eighteen and she was only fourteen. She didn't have a cell phone back then. The phone she had now was left to her by her late Master, but it didn't have her brother's number!

In fact, every two months after her brother had left, he would send her many gifts without fail over those four years.

Some of them were electronic devices, but the night she received them, there was a huge rainstorm, and somehow a roof tile over her room had come loose...

As luck would have it, it was right above where her brother's gifts were. One could imagine the result.

That was just how she was - the things others gave her she could keep, but not too many. Too many would still not stay with her!

However, her Master had divined for her before that she only truly had the fortune of solitude. As for wealth, that was just temporary. It could be resolved once she married in the future!

Thinking of this, Jian Xi sighed helplessly. B City was so big - how long would it take her to find him?!

Actually, Jian Xi could have divined the locations of her Senior Brothers and Sisters first, but compared to them, she wanted to find her brother first. After all, it had always been her brother by her side since she was little, so she was closer to him.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

The sudden sound of coughing interrupted Jian Xi's reminiscing.

She glanced to the side. It was the boy sitting in the same row as her but on the other side of the aisle. He looked only a little older than Jian Xi and also seemed to be traveling alone.

At this moment, he was coughing nonstop, his lips turning purple as his chest heaved rapidly and he gasped for breath!

The two people sitting next to him were also frightened by this sudden situation and didn't know what to do. In an instant the plane was in chaos.

Everyone craned their necks to see what was happening here. Some had even taken out their phones and started recording, planning to post it online once they landed and had internet.

The flight attendants rushed over as soon as they heard the sounds.

But the young man's condition seemed quite serious. The plane was currently flying over the ocean and couldn't make an emergency landing. The flight attendant had no choice but to ask the passengers for help.

The intercom sounded: "Dear passengers, there is a passenger who has suddenly fallen ill on the plane. Are there any doctors on board?"

The announcement was met with silence - clearly there were no doctors on the plane.

The crew was highly trained. From start to finish, everything happened in less than a minute.

Jian Xi glanced at the young man's condition, pressed her lips together, then stood up. "Excuse me, pardon me please. Thank you."

Since she was sitting in the very last row, she had to pass two people to get out into the aisle.

Just as she went past the first person, a man walked over from first class. He was wearing gold rimmed glasses and looked refined and handsome. He was probably about 185 cm tall.

He arrived next to the flight attendant and said gently, "Hello, I'm a doctor from Huaqing Hospital in B City. My name is Shen Xiaoheng. I should be able to help."
