The Fake Heiress’s Inner Thoughts Were Heard by Her Entire Family

Chapter 26

The day of discharge from the hospital arrived. Jing Beicheng was helping Lin Ruiqing rest in the hospital room.

Jing Zeyou was discussing follow-up precautions with the doctor when he remembered what Jing Zeyou had mentioned last time.

"Your aunt's condition is fine now, but Zeyou, are you sure you don't want to take a psychological assessment or something?" The doctor was still concerned. Although Jing Zeyou's physical examination report showed no issues, it didn't rule out potential psychological problems.

Jing Zeyou smiled helplessly. How could he explain that both his body and mind were perfectly fine? "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. If there really was a problem, I'd definitely contact you. As for last time, just consider it mere curiosity on my part."

The doctor gave him a skeptical look but didn't push further. "Alright then, but if you notice anything unusual, make sure to contact me!" Jing Zeyou had finally managed to politely decline his doctor friend's suggestion.

In the hospital room, Jing Zeqian was directing Jing Yi, "Jing Yi, come put this away."

Jing Zeqian handed some clothes to Jing Yi, who was packing luggage. Jing Zejun was packing on the other side of the hospital bed, occasionally looking up at the two bickering, shaking her head with a slight smile.

Jing Yi glared at Jing Zeqian but still took the clothes. She had been temporarily 'hired' as an assistant by Jing Zeqian due to having nothing else to do, which essentially meant being at his beck and call.

[The suitcase is right there! Are his arms too short or what?!]

"And this too."

Jing Yi took the jacket, glaring once more.

Jing Zeqian's smile only grew wider. So this was how it felt to have someone dislike you but be unable to do anything about it - it felt pretty good!

"Junjun, have you wrapped up your filming?" Jing Zeqian asked.

Jing Zejun nodded, continuing with her task, "Yes, it's pretty much done. All that's left is the subsequent promotion."

"Have you considered joining my company?" This wasn't the first time Jing Zeqian had brought this up with Jing Zejun.

His reasoning was simple. He ran an entertainment company, and since Jing Zejun wanted to be an actress, why couldn't she join his company? This way, he could protect her and provide her with better resources. After all, he had nurtured an actress to become a Best Actress award winner.

Jing Zejun's smile faded slightly, her movements pausing as she seemed at a loss.

Jing Yi noticed Jing Zejun's discomfort and immediately spoke up to divert attention, "What's the big deal? So what if it's Startrack? Your company's current top actress is Jiang Miaomiao. What resources do you have for Junjun?"

Jing Zeqian frowned slightly, immediately retorting, "Startrack is a major company. How could we not have good resources?"

"Well, if Jiang Miaomiao and Junjun both want the same script, who gets it?"

Jing Zeqian hesitated briefly before responding, "A script doesn't have just one role!" He refused to believe they would both want the exact same role!

Jing Yi raised an eyebrow, "Second brother, you're not answering my question directly."

[He values that Jiang Miaomiao more than I thought!]

Jing Zeqian's lips tightened. He would certainly favor his own sister, but Jiang Miaomiao was someone he had personally nurtured. He couldn't leave her with nothing.

He looked at Jing Yi with a serious expression, "This question isn't realistic. Even for artists from different companies, any issues regarding script roles can be negotiated. And even if such a situation did arise, I would definitely favor my own sister."

Jing Yi gazed at Jing Zeqian with a meaningful look, "Second brother, do you think Junjun doesn't have the ability to get that script on her own?"

He knew that even when artists from different companies compete, negotiations are necessary. How do they negotiate? Either by comparing star power or acting skills. But when it came to Jing Zejun, Jing Zeqian seemed to subconsciously ignore this option.

Jing Zeqian paused, "...You're deliberately making things difficult."

Apart from this, he seemed unable to find a rebuttal.

Lin Ruiqing and Jing Beicheng felt that every word Jing Yi said pointed to the core of the issue.

Jing Zejun had her own choices. Perhaps her company wasn't as good as Startrack, but she must have her own considerations.

Jing Zeqian just couldn't understand this point. After finding Jing Zejun, he wanted to lay everything out in front of her, afraid she might take a step and hurt herself.

Jing Zejun's hand tightened slightly as she looked at the two, her expression somewhat worried.

"Why are you arguing again?" Jing Zeyou pushed open the door, seeing the two bickering as usual.

"Big brother, be the judge. Jing Yi is always opposing me!"

"You're the unreasonable one. I want to tell big brother first!"

"Stop!" Jing Zeyou held up both hands to stop the two rushing towards him.

He didn't want to hear from either of them. It was all trivial matters anyway, what was there to argue about? "If you want to argue, can't you do it at home? Even though the hospital rooms are soundproof, you should still be considerate."

Jing Zeqian finally gave up, and Jing Yi returned to Jing Zejun's side, patting her hand with a sweet smile.

Jing Zejun, whose mood had been a bit low, couldn't help but smile as well.

"By the way, what's the name of the drama you just finished filming?"

Seeing that the previous topic had been diverted, Jing Yi wanted to chat about something Jing Zejun was interested in to improve her mood.

"All you do is eat and sleep all day. You can't remember anything," Jing Zeqian said coldly from the side, earning reproachful looks from several people.

[Jerk!]

"Sea Crabapple Still Blooms," Jing Zejun quickly said the name of the drama, afraid that the two would start arguing because of her again.

Jing Yi's movements slowed as she was putting away clothes, her eyes filled with deep confusion.

[Sea Crabapple Still Blooms? Why does this name sound so familiar?]

At times like these, Jing Yi couldn't help but hate her limited memory. It took so much effort to recall anything.

The others didn't pay much attention, assuming Jing Yi had heard the name of the drama in some entertainment news.

"Now that filming is over, can you eat properly?" Jing Zeyou still remembered Jing Zejun's low immunity from her last physical examination.

"If little Zeyou hadn't mentioned it, I would have forgotten. Junjun, filming is one thing, but you still need to take care of your health. When we get back, let Aunt Wang help you nourish your body. You can't diet like that again. If necessary, we can hire a personal trainer."

"Okay, mom," Jing Zejun smiled shyly.

Actually, it was just that the director of this drama was a bit strict. To present a better effect, the cheongsams were made slightly small, and to fit into them, Jing Zejun had to deliberately eat less.

Jing Yi leaned close to Jing Zejun's ear and whispered, "Can you ask Aunt Wang to prepare an extra portion for me?" Jing Zejun smiled tenderly, affectionately pinching Jing Yi's cheek.

"Of course! You can have whatever you want to eat."
