After inserting ten coins, Yuan Luoyi still hadn't managed to grab the stuffed toy. The mechanical claw would always shake at the crucial moment, causing the toy to drop.
The capitalists were blatantly fleecing the students!
I'm done with this.
Yuan Luoyi remembered that her second brother Yuan Fa was a gaming master, so he might be able to help her catch the doll.
But their conversation probably wasn't over yet, so she might as well go buy some pizza first!
Yuan Luoyi headed toward the pizza shop. After walking a few steps, she saw her former homeroom teacher, Teacher Su. Su looked in a bad mood, her brows furrowed, standing in the smoking area, puffing away.
Under the control of her third brother Yuan Yong, the former physical education teacher had been jailed, as Teacher Su had voluntarily provided evidence of his misappropriation of public funds, committing a crime to atone for another.
Teacher Su had previously viewed the PE teacher as just a fling during peacetime, but now that crisis had struck, she realized this man could still be useful as a stepping stone.
However, the Elephant Bone Association would never let her off the hook, nor would the Yuan family, and sooner or later she would lose everything. This made her anxious, smoking through a pack a day.
Almost simultaneously, Teacher Su also noticed Yuan Luoyi. She instinctively went to put out her cigarette, as it wasn't good to smoke in front of students. But this was Yuan Luoyi, the student she hated most, so she took another puff and stared coldly at Yuan Luoyi.
With a false smile, she said, "Yuan Luoyi, are you getting used to being in Class D? If not, teacher can help you out."
Yuan Luoyi said, "Then can you take a few steps forward, Teacher Su?"
This was an odd request. Teacher Su let out a cold snort. Was this brat asking her to go over and give her a hug?
Ridiculous. Such a sentimental teacher-student scene would never play out between them. They loathed each other, merely avoiding an open confrontation.
Her high heels made a harsh clacking sound as Teacher Su walked forward two steps. "Anything else?" she asked, taking another puff and flicking the ash off with her hand. She was curious to see what this little rascal was up to.
"Ding ling ling!"
Yuan Luoyi pressed the alarm button.
A security guard quickly ran over. "What's going on?"
Yuan Luoyi pointed at Teacher Su. "Teacher Su was smoking outside the designated smoking area, seriously endangering the health of students."
Teacher Su then realized she had wandered out of the smoking area. She never imagined the current Yuan Luoyi would dare to play tricks on a teacher. If it were before, Teacher Su would have coldly mocked Yuan Luoyi, and the little girl would have just silently hung her head.
The security guard sternly stared at Teacher Su. "Ma'am, how could you expose a student to secondhand smoke? According to the rules, we have to fine you 1,000 yuan!"
Teacher Su put out her cigarette, irritably opened her Hermès bag, took out a wad of cash, counted it, and handed it to the security guard.
With a sarcastic smile, she said to Yuan Luoyi, "You really have changed a lot. You're such a clever girl."
Then she angrily clacked away in her high heels.
Seeing Teacher Su's humiliation made Yuan Luoyi quite happy. Teacher Su had always acted high and mighty, using her unique methods to bully Yuan Luoyi. But now Yuan Luoyi knew she could make Su fall.
Her second brother Yuan Fa walked over. He had witnessed the whole incident from a distance and said with a smile, "Not bad at all, befitting a child of the Yuan family. But there's still some room for improvement."
He snatched the money from the security guard's hand and quickly counted it.
The guard was stunned. "What are you doing?"
Yuan Fa said, "According to administrative law, school fines can only be up to 50 yuan. You took... 1,000 yuan. Haha, that's a serious violation. Let me guess, which dimwit made up these rules? It must have been the Principal! It's time to have another nice chat with him and thank him for giving me another money-making opportunity."
The guard was speechless, not daring to question the matter of breaking the law.
Yuan Fa handed the money to Yuan Luoyi. "This petty cash is what you earned yourself, so I won't take it. But you'll have to do better next time."
He gave an evil smile. "However, the Principal's big money will be mine. I can really milk him for this one."
And so, that 1,000 yuan became Yuan Luoyi's pocket money. Delighted, she stuffed the cash into her bag and looked up to ask, "Brother, have you finished talking?"
Yuan Fa said, "It's all settled. He's gone."
Yuan Luoyi asked, "Does that mean I'll never see my third brother again?"
Yuan Fa ruffled Yuan Luoyi's hair. "Little one, you already have such an excellent brother like me. Don't be greedy and let him go. He's too dangerous for you."
His gaze suddenly turned cold. "Do you remember what happened when you were six? He kidnapped you. When I found you in the forest, you were crying so loudly. Big brother might spoil you, but I won't. If you meet our third brother again, I'll be furious, extremely furious, and nothing you do can appease my anger. Understand?"
Yuan Luoyi nodded.
She only agreed that her third brother was dangerous, but she didn't agree that she couldn't appease her second brother's anger.
Among the five Yuan brothers, the second and third had the worst relationship and were sworn enemies, fighting whenever they met.
She decided that the next time she met Yuan Yong, she had to avoid Yuan Fa.
Moreover, Yuan Yong's second gift of "eating pizza together" hadn't been fulfilled yet. He would come find her, no matter what obstacles stood in the way.
With the troublesome matters resolved, Yuan Fa went to demand money from the Principal, while Yuan Luoyi was brought home by her eldest brother Yuan Ao.
In the small car, Yuan Ao sat beside her, still quiet and mysterious, inscrutable.
Now Yuan Luoyi was certain that Yuan Ao did have incredible power and could discover that she had been isolated at school and that her third brother Yuan Yong had secretly visited.
The only thing she couldn't figure out was, if her formidable eldest brother was so powerful, how could he have died at the hands of that murderer?
However, through this PE class, she had activated Reversion, so maybe she could find the answer tonight.
After arriving home, Yuan Luoyi rushed straight to her room, dropped her bag, sat on the soft bed, and loudly said, "System, activate Reversion!"
[Ding! System prompt: Reversion activated!]
The familiar sense of dizziness washed over her, and Yuan Luoyi felt her body go limp as she fell back.
The scenery rapidly changed before her eyes, giving her an odd sensation of falling. In the darkness, she reached out and touched a hard wall.
Where was this?
Yuan Luoyi's eyes slowly adjusted to the dark, and she realized she was alone in a long hallway, with the moonlight from outside being the only source of illumination. Looking at the vintage floral patterns on the walls, she realized this was a hallway in the Yuan family home.
Then Yuan Luoyi smelled the scent of blood and noticed drops of it on the floor. She followed the trail.
The blood on the floor grew thicker, and the smell stronger, all the way to Yuan's Mother's bedroom door, which she found was ajar, with blood on the doorknob.
"Creeeeak..."
Yuan Luoyi gently pushed the door open further. Yuan's Mother lay in a large pool of blood, having lost so much that she was barely conscious, but she recognized Yuan Luoyi and a tear rolled down her cheek. "Darling, run away quickly..."
Suddenly, a cold, girlish laugh came from behind Yuan Luoyi. She felt the muzzle of a gun press against the back of her head.
"Bang!"
A gunshot rang out.
[Ding! System prompt: Reversion ended]
In the bright room, Yuan Luoyi jolted upright, gasping for air like a drowning person finally getting oxygen. She felt the back of her head—intact, no bullet hole.
The real killer had been standing right behind her!
And it was a girl!
