Little brat, still complaining that she talks too much!
Zhong Ruanxing waved her fist at Zhong You, who immediately said ingratiatingly, "Of course my favorite brother is still you!"
With words like these, she's acting like some sea monarch!
It takes a real sister to be able to scam like this. If her suitors heard these heartfelt words from a child, they'd be scared away for sure!
But they were sisters tied by heartstrings, and by the time Zhong You was leaving, she was already clinging to Ruanxing's neck and whimpering, "Brother, I don't want you to go."
Naturally Zhong Ruanxing was reluctant to part as well, but given her current identity it was improper, so after coaxing her sister a few times with promises to take her to the amusement park next time, she finally returned the teary-eyed little bunny into Song Jinxing's care.
She waved her hand. "Take care of everything."
Song Jinxing hugged Zhong You and nodded. "You too."
Their eyes met, two people sharing a secret unique in the whole world smiled knowingly.
The next morning, Ran Ting brought the newly appointed assistant Wu Chengwang to pick up Song Jinxing and go to the airport. Times had changed, and this time Star Ent. had finally deigned to arrange a car for Zhong Ruanxing, and had generously bought her a business class ticket.
All these years, Zhong Ruanxing had only taken economy.
Zhong Ruanxing wasn't well known, and with how low key they were being, no one recognized her at the airport. The occasional glances cast their way were only because of her rare beauty.
Even with a mask on, she couldn't conceal her graceful bearing.
But that cold demeanor was too intimidating, and passersby only dared admire her from afar, not approaching. Around Song Jinxing was a vacuum, with only Ran Ting and Wu Chengwang sticking close.
Wu Chengwang wasn't a newbie. He had been an artist's assistant for many years, much more experienced than the intern agent Ran Ting.
With his seniority, he should have gotten a promotion long ago, yet after so many years he was still just a minor assistant. This was because he had an honest personality, never currying favor or standing out. No matter how good his work, no one promoted him.
Ran Ting noticed his moral character, and Wu Chengwang was tall and muscular, full of muscles, giving a sense of security. Aside from being an assistant he could also act as a bodyguard.
After the three passed security and arrived at the business lounge, hurried footsteps sounded at the door as a large group entered. Song Jinxing was reading over the script, didn't even lift his eyelids, but Ran Ting immediately recognized the woman wearing sunglasses and a mask among them.
She whispered, "Ruanxing, that's Kou An'an."
Song Jinxing tilted his head to give her a questioning look.
Ran Ting's voice grew even lower. "The heroine of Spy! Don't you recognize her?"
Of course Song Jinxing didn't recognize her, he didn't follow the entertainment scene.
Spy was the movie directed by Director Zeng. Zhong Ruanxing played the second female lead, while Kou An'an was the first female lead, far surpassing her in popularity and status.
Kou An'an was wildly popular right now, and was also known for her acting skills. If it wasn't for Director Zeng taking a liking to Zhong Ruanxing, she wouldn't even have the qualifications to play a supporting role to Kou An'an.
Clearly they were taking the same flight today. As Kou An'an's junior in the cast, Zhong Ruanxing ought to take the initiative to greet her no matter what. Even a newbie like Ran Ting knew this rule, yet her own artist didn't move, sitting calmly in place and continuing to read the script.
Seeing that her reminder didn't work, Ran Ting hurriedly stood and approached Kou An'an, who had already sat down inside. A popular actress naturally traveled differently, with five or six people surrounding her on all sides, sealing her off from view. It wasn't clear whether she didn't recognize Zhong Ruanxing, or recognized her but pretended not to see.
Ran Ting grew anxious. She had heard too many stories of leads bullying supporting roles, and naturally didn't want her artist offending the heroine before even starting work. She urged again, "Ruanxing, go say hi. We'll be working together for three months. Get to know each other beforehand."
Song Jinxing heard her worry, and though he didn't think greetings were necessary before official work started with a stranger, yesterday Zhong Ruanxing had told him to listen to his agent's arrangements sometimes.
Did 'sometimes' include now?
Oh well, he would listen to her.
So he put away the script, stood up and walked over to Kou An'an. Ran Ting hurried to follow.
Kou An'an's entourage of assistants and bodyguards watched them approach warily. Song Jinxing stopped three steps away. "Hello."
Ran Ting quickly followed up, "Ms. Kou, this is Zhong Ruanxing. She'll be playing the second female lead in Spy. It's our honor to act with you."
After speaking, she waited expectantly for a response.
Kou An'an wore sunglasses, so her eyes weren't visible, but she nodded lightly to indicate she heard.
Ran Ting felt a little awkward. Song Jinxing didn't feel it was a problem though. As someone used to high office, he had always been sparing with strangers. Kou An'an's reaction was within his expectations, so he simply nodded back, then turned and walked back to his seat to continue reading the script.
Ran Ting suppressed her embarrassment and bowed deeply to Kou An'an before hurrying after her artist.
Afterwards, until boarding the plane, there was no more interaction between the two groups.
As it was Ran Ting's first time experiencing something like this, it was only natural she would feel bad. But she also understood this was how the entertainment industry worked. A wildly popular celebrity wouldn't spare a glance for a no-name little artist like Ruanxing.
As the plane took off, shooting into the blue sky like an arrow leaving the bowstring, she silently made a resolution over the roar of the engines: she would make Ruanxing popular! So no one would look down on her again!
