Apocalypse: The Hotel She Runs Is the Only Paradise

Chapter 229

"System, are you messing with me?"

The little elves had just completed their check-in when the system issued this task to her.

The elves who had already checked in couldn't be counted toward the task.

And there weren't any other elves coming now.

"Aww, host, I don't have control over the task list either," the system whimpered pitifully. "This task just got refreshed now."

Gu Wanyin patted the squirrel system's head.

"But the elves' rooms expire tomorrow. As long as you get them to stay here tomorrow, or come back in a few days, if there are fifty elves, you'll complete your task, host!"

Gu Wanyin thought about it and agreed it made sense.

After a while, all the injured people's wounds had been treated.

The human guests were either in the infirmary or resting in their own rooms.

The elves were having a party in the dining room.

The Mindless King enthusiastically invited Gu Wanyin to join.

They played until midnight before the elves went to bed.

While Mindless hadn't left yet, Gu Wanyin smiled and asked, "What do you think of our Peace Hotel?"

"It's so much fun!" Mindless exclaimed excitedly. "It's different from our island, the rooms are different from where we live, and most importantly, your human food is delicious!"

"Then, would you like to stay here tomorrow too?" Gu Wanyin seized the opportunity to ask.

Mindless immediately replied, "Sure! But we're out of points, and we didn't bring enough mushrooms. We'll need to go back to the island tomorrow and bring more mushrooms back."

"Alright." Gu Wanyin patted its head. "I'll wait for you all."

...

Meanwhile, in another human shelter built by a wizard, singing could be heard continuously from a large house.

The people sleeping outside seemed to have grown accustomed to the singing. Although it kept them from sleeping, no one dared to go to that house to protest.

"Hey, what do you think? That wizard lord, having people sing for him every night, doesn't he ever get tired of it?"

"Who knows? Maybe he just likes music."

"Heh, you think he likes music? He likes pretty girls and handsome boys..."

"What? The wizard lord, he, he..."

"Shh, keep your voice down!"

"Sigh, when will this life ever end?"

"You should be grateful. At least we're in the shelter now, with the wizard lord's protection, safe from vampires."

"But there's too much work every day! Being their slaves is exhausting! Plus, they take all the food we grow, the wizard and his followers. We can barely eat enough!"

"Would you rather not live?"

"Of course I want to live! But I heard someone say there's this place called a hotel now, where it's also very safe, with good food and drinks. Though you have to pay with chicken manure, at least you don't have to serve anyone!"

"What what, chicken manure? Why would this hotel place want chicken manure?"

"I don't know, that's just what I heard..."

Inside the house, a middle-aged man was smiling as he listened to a beautiful woman sing, while holding a very handsome young man in his arms.

The young man's expression clearly showed his unwillingness, but he dared not resist the wizard.

After the woman finished singing, he smiled and beckoned her over.

The woman's face showed a smile worse than crying.

But she could only walk over.

The middle-aged man embraced them both, one on each side.

Then, he turned to ask his follower behind him.

"I told you to go find more young boys and girls today, how did that go?"
