Apocalypse: The Hotel She Runs Is the Only Paradise

Chapter 11

Gu Wanyin first went to the cupboard and took out a bottle of cola and two bottles of orange juice.

The cola tasted similar to what it was like before the apocalypse, and the little cola fan loved it.

The orange juice tasted like freshly squeezed, especially delicious, full of orange flavor, sweet but not cloying.

She priced the drinks and fruits at one point each, and the system had no objections.

Dong Yue couldn't resist buying a bottle of cola and an apple as well.

She didn't dare to spend points recklessly anymore, so she didn't go to the cafeteria and just grabbed a pack of instant noodles instead.

It was perfect timing, as she could now use the electric cooker to make her instant noodles.

When she arrived at the cafeteria, Gu Wanyin discovered that three more dish icons had lit up on the machine: braised pork, boiled fish, and sweet and sour ribs.

She happily selected one portion of each, along with three bowls of rice, and began eating her dinner with the cola and hamburger.

Fu Siheng and the others were also feasting nearby.

When they were almost finished eating, Gu Wanyin asked Fu Siheng, "Where did you all live before? Are there any bases or similar places nearby?"

Her next task was to recruit a hotel service staff member.

Although someone would eventually come to the hotel on their own, she didn't know how long she'd have to wait.

Since she had nothing else to do, she might as well go to the base and actively recruit, see if anyone was willing to become a service staff, and promote the hotel while she was at it.

"Yes, there's a Sunshine Base about half a day's journey from here," Fu Siheng said. "My older brother and sister-in-law used to live there."

"I see," Gu Wanyin nodded.

The system had told her before that it would guide her wherever she wanted to go.

Moreover, although she didn't have absolute control outside the hotel, no person, zombie, or natural disaster could harm her, nor could anyone detain her, so she was absolutely safe wherever she went.

However, she couldn't leave the hotel for more than seventy-eight hours.

So she needed to go to a nearby base.

The base was only half a day's journey away, which would definitely be enough time.

After dinner, Gu Wanyin prepared to take her cola and hamburger back to rest.

Fu Siheng and the others hadn't left yet, and she noticed Lin Ru secretly watching her, but she paid no attention to it.

After Gu Wanyin and her companions left, Fu Sishu sighed, "I never imagined that the hotel owner, who looks so small and thin, could be so powerful, and the hotel so magical. Could she possess a combination of Mental ability and Spatial ability?"

Fu Siheng shook his head and said, "I've never heard of such powerful abilities. In my opinion, it's far more complex than that."

"Anyway, it's not something we should worry about. As long as we can stay here, it's good enough."

"Right, we still have quite a few Crystal Cores, enough to stay here for a while. I'll rest for a bit, then go out to kill some zombies and see if I can get more Crystal Cores to exchange for points."

Fu Sishu sighed, "If only Xiaoyue were still here..."

Fu Siheng smiled bitterly, "Brother, who exactly is this Xiaoyue? I've heard you mention her many times."

Lin Ru was about to speak, but Fu Sishu stopped her, shaking his head.

After they finished eating, they returned to the second floor, each going back to their own rooms to rest.

Lin Ru felt very full; she hadn't been this satisfied since the apocalypse began.

But when she thought about how she and Fu Sishu were married yet couldn't share a room, she felt very uncomfortable.

The room wasn't even that small...

Standing at her room's doorway, she looked around but didn't see any cameras.

Now that Gu Wanyin wasn't around, if she sneaked into Fu Sishu's room, how would Gu Wanyin even know?

Even if they had to follow the hotel rules, as long as the owner didn't know, it should be fine, right?

Fu Sishu had been lying on the bed for a while and was just about to go to the bathroom to quickly wash up when he heard a knock on the door.

He got up, walked to the door, and opened it to find Lin Ru.

"Ruru?" Fu Sishu asked, puzzled. "What's wrong? Is there a problem with your room?"

"No, honey, I want to sleep with you," Lin Ru pouted coquettishly. "Since the apocalypse, we've never been apart. I don't feel secure without you by my side."

Fu Sishu sighed, "Ruru, have you forgotten the hotel rules? You can't enter my room, and I can't enter yours. Think about what happened to those two troublemakers earlier."

"But the owner isn't here now," Lin Ru said. "She may be powerful, but if I enter your room, she can't see it. How could she punish me?"

Fu Sishu frowned and said, "I don't think it's that simple... *cough* *cough*"

"See, you're not feeling well. I need to take care of you. Just let me in."

Before Fu Sishu could react, Lin Ru had already stepped into his room.

However, at that moment, a voice suddenly rang out from nowhere: "Warning, violation of hotel rules. Removal in progress."

Lin Ru's face turned pale, and Fu Sishu panicked.

The next moment, Lin Ru vanished instantly before Fu Sishu's eyes!

"Ruru, Ruru!" Fu Sishu shouted in panic. He coughed as he ran out of the room, looking around the corridor and calling Lin Ru's name.

Fu Siheng, hearing the commotion from the neighboring room, quickly came out and asked, "Brother, what's wrong?"

Fu Sishu, his lips trembling, recounted what had just happened.

Fu Siheng was stunned, finding the situation both absurd and somewhat amusing.

"Haven't you witnessed the owner's abilities? She specifically emphasized one person per room. Why didn't you listen?" Fu Siheng couldn't understand.

"Ruru... she's always been so willful. Sigh!"

Fu Siheng felt somewhat reluctant to get involved. While he was close to his older brother, his sister-in-law had been nothing but trouble since the apocalypse began, even more so than his ill brother.

"Siheng, should we go and beg the owner to bring her back?" Fu Sishu asked.

"How? She had already offended the owner once before, and we barely managed to stay here. Now she's causing trouble again! Moreover, the owner had already emphasized the rules to her! If we go and beg now, the owner might get angry and kick us out too! Brother, do you want to go back to the base?"

Fu Sishu fell silent.

Fu Siheng was usually calm and reserved; this was the first time he had spoken so passionately and at length.

Besides, what he said made sense.

"The owner said earlier that she sent those two troublemakers to a zombie horde. Do you think Ruru might also..."

Fu Sishu's face turned pale, his hands trembling uncontrollably.

Fu Siheng remained silent for a moment before saying, "Probably, but she brought this upon herself. If you're really worried about her, I can accompany you to look for her tomorrow, but we're unlikely to find her."

Fu Sishu could only nod, returning to his room as tears silently fell.

If only he had been stricter in stopping Lin Ru, he thought. Sigh...

...

It wasn't until Gu Wanyin woke up the next morning that the system informed her Lin Ru had been removed for violating hotel rules the previous night.

This was expected, so she felt no emotional response.
