A Girl Who Wants to Be a Beneficial Person to Society

Chapter 101

Early in the morning, Xiaoqi finished practicing her calligraphy calmly and had breakfast.

However, her aunt Su Simei was extremely excited.

Xiaoqi was originally going to attend her Japanese class in the morning, but had to ask for leave due to a conflicting interview with the TV station. Coincidentally, Guan Ximiao also asked for leave for this lesson, so Teacher Zhou would be teaching previous content that both of their progress could keep up with.

Upon hearing that Su Xiaoqi was going to be interviewed on TV, Zhou Meiling still felt a tinge of jealousy...just a tinge. Then she immediately urged her to dress nicely and not embarrass her.

Su Xiaoqi: ......

In recent times, she had been trained by her student Jiajia to be used to being in front of the camera. Just thinking about the TV station interview felt a bit too far-fetched. She didn't feel nervous while practicing calligraphy earlier, but when her aunt came to ask what she would wear, she blanked out again.

She didn't have many clothes to choose from, only T-shirts and sweatpants. It wasn't something she needed to consider before, but now with her new clothes, it became an issue.

The laundry was done drying, and Xiaoqi felt it would be best to wear something light and comfortable, so she changed into her new sweatpants and pink elephant T-shirt that she quite liked because the elephants were cute.

However, Su Simei felt it was inappropriate, the pants were a bit too baggy, she thought it didn't look formal enough and was too casual.

So Xiaoqi changed again into casual slacks and a blouse, which looked very formal.

But Su Simei felt that was too formal, it seemed a bit too serious, like a little girl trying too hard.

She wanted Xiaoqi to change again, maybe try wearing a skirt.

Xiaoqi: ......

"Auntie, there's no time to change again, this will do." Xiaoqi didn't like wearing skirts much, she found them restricting. She hurriedly used it as an excuse to end the clothes change turmoil.

Su Simei had work so she couldn't tag along. But there was a car to pick Xiaoqi up, so Su Simei saw her to the car.

On the way back she told everyone she met, "My niece is being interviewed by the TV station. They just sent a car to pick her up, I went to see her off."

Patients and their families all obligingly complimented her niece.

The nurses and doctors didn't say anything, but their attitude towards Su Simei was much better than before when they would scold her at the slightest thing.

The hospital was extremely busy, basically overloaded. Whether it was the doctors, nurses, or the patients they had to deal with everyday, it was all very taxing. They couldn't afford to have a bad attitude with patients either. It was inevitable they would vent their frustration on their subordinates like Su Simei the sanitation worker who was at the bottom of the hierarchy. Being scolded once or twice was just daily life. Plus with her previous physique and unsweet mouth, she gave an impression of foolishness despite her hard work.

Xiaoqi felt slightly ill at ease sitting in the car.

Before getting in she had put on some lipstick, the one Teacher Zhou gave her. She discovered it really was easy to apply and made her lips a nice red while making her look more spirited.

In the car was the driver and a young girl with a TV station pass hanging on her chest that read Ji Su, intern.

She had graduated from Qingmeng University and being able to intern at the TV station showed how outstanding she was.

She was responsible for picking up Xiaoqi today.

The interviewee today was a high school graduate student from Gumula Village in Huanghe Town, Lvshan City. Ji Su had done her homework beforehand. Preparing for today's guest was her morning's work, she would be responsible for the guest from pickup to end of interview.

She had imagined a somewhat shy girl, but when she saw Su Xiaoqi get in the car with a slightly worn schoolbag, completely poised and greeting her briskly, brimming with confidence and dressed very smart, if she didn't know the girl was only 17 years old, she would've thought she was the TV host or some celebrity.

The drive wasn't long from the hospital to TV station, they had sent a car to show sincerity.

Upon arriving at the TV station, Xiaoqi discovered quite a crowd at the entrance. Going in, it had an ordinary office building vibe, like classrooms, quite quiet.

She saw Wu Coach getting her makeup done as well as the Three Flowers Team's head coach Zhao Pingwang, a middle aged man.

Wu Coach was heavily made up to the point she was almost unrecognizable. She was also wearing a skirt which made her muscular arms seem even more muscular, her legs were also quite muscular.

Xiaoqi: ......

Luckily she didn't wear a skirt. Wu Coach seemed rather nervous, not daring to stand to greet Xiaoqi when she saw her, so Xiaoqi went over by herself.

Head Coach Zhao was wearing a suit while the stylist attempted to cover his middle hair loss by styling his fringe.

As the main interviewee today, Xiaoqi was also due for makeup. After the makeup artist finished Wu Coach's makeup....she turned and smiled at Xiaoqi....quite creepy.

A woman in her 20s made up to look nearly 40 years old.

"I don't usually wear makeup, so I'm not used to heavy makeup." Xiaoqi spoke up first to the makeup artist.

The makeup artist was one of the TV station's makeup artists, not the main one of course. The main makeup artists handled the hosts and celebrities, she was responsible for basic makeup for guests coming in since they don't look good enough under studio lights without makeup. Whether it looked good or not wasn't so important since they weren't significant people and they didn't require anything elaborate.

But having a young girl say that to her, immediately put her in a bad mood. She was about to retort when she saw this young lady sitting steadily exuding quality, even more overbearing than the top hosts in the station. Glancing at her, she did indeed have fair skin and naturally red lips, long curled lashes, no drastic makeup job needed at all.

"Your eyebrows are a little light. I'll fill them in a bit." The makeup artist quickly found an excuse to bow out gracefully, though rather awkwardly.

Xiaoqi nodded slightly.

That instant, Wu Peirong and Head Coach Zhao were a little dumbfounded. Head Coach Zhao wondered just where little Wu found such an outstanding specimen. Simply too aggressive! With that imposing manner from before, it was like seeing the bureau chief.

While Wu Peirong felt a little proud and gratified.

Despite arriving early, they didn't start interviews right away.

They still had to wait around to be called.

This waiting lasted a few hours!

Wu Peirong passed the time by licking off her lipstick. While the head coach's heavily hair sprayed hair drooped with two strands poking out.

Luckily Xiaoqi had the habit of keeping books in her schoolbag for spare time reading. She took out her Japanese textbook to review and pre-study. It was nice and quiet here, good for learning. The only thing was she had told her parents on the phone beforehand she would return today, at this rate walking home looked to be the only way back.
